Hello guys!

I had an incredibly late morning, watching all the Roman Atwood videos I have missed (3 - 4), had breakfast at 12.00 and then an hour later lunch.

Now. Off the boring stuff and onto the interesting things.

The rain came down at the start. Unfortunatly the race had to start behind safety car, so we didn't get that chaotic run down into Village. Despite this let-down the race was intrestingly-boring. The interesting part was that practically everyone ran wide at turn one, almost turning the race into a drift competition, and the boring part was that there wasn't LOADS of overtaking. The track did dry up and the people 'competing in the drift contest' went down to none.

Once again, in the dying stages of the race Mercedes added some serious spice with this contreversial conversation.

Nico Rosberg:(driver) Gearbox problem.

Tony Ross: (engineer) Chassis default zero, one.

Tony Ross: Avoid seventh gear Nico.

Nico Rosberg: What does that mean? I have to shift through it.

Tony Ross: Affirm, Nico, affirm. You have to shift through it.

Now, if you don't/haven't been following Formula One, from the 2016 season:

"To ensure that drivers drive the car 'alone and unaided' and are not being 'coached' from the pit wall, stricter rules have been introduced to restrict what information can and can't be given to a driver over team radio. For example, a driver can no longer be given information about driving lines or how to adjust his car to make it faster whilst out on track." (FormulaOne.com)

There are two sides to this story:

The 'Mercedes' side: The conversation was legal, the car had a terminal (end of it's life) problem, and if we do not tell Nico what to press we would have to retire the car

On the other hand

The 'Fans' side: Illegal conversation. The rules also state that you cannot tell a driver how to solve a problem. Mercedes didn't help Hamilton, yet they help Lewis.

I myself do not know what the stewards have said/discussed/decided and neither did the Channel 4 presenters. But we will find out what their decision is at a later date. In my opinion I think they shouldn't have helped Nico becuase without that he would not have finished, furthermore the fans booed him on the podium which is both understandable and outrageous.

Understandable because technically he did cheat by getting information,

Outragous though because for one and a half hours he was in a swealtering Formula One car at top speed. It technically wasn't his fault, he only informed his team that he had an issue with the car, and the team told him, he wasn't expecting the team to tell him what to do.

Anyway...I hope you all have had a great weekend,

Please comment your opinion about Nico and his radio message.

Thank you for all the support

See you on Monday! :)
